Hi, I am also using ASUS X553MA and the touchpad multi touch and scroll
are not working. I have tried to install various drivers but none seems
to work. I am using elementary OS 0.3.1 Freya 64 bit built on Ubuntu
14.04.

  In System Settings / Brightness & Lock the brightness slider doesn't
  work with kernel 3.13.0-39-generic.

  The brightness slider control does work when using vanilla kernel
  3.17.2.
