[Bug 1224323] Re: wired network intermittently fails

apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected raring

** Description changed:

HP EliteBook 8530w and 8540w laptops, Intel 82567LM gigabit ethernet on
  board, e1000e driver in Ubuntu 13.04 x86_64.

Booting to kernel 3.8.0-30 causes the network to fail intermittently. No
logs are produced, nothing in dmesg, the network just stops working (I
have a ping running to the default gateway and it stops). Removing cable
and reattaching re-establishes connectivity until it fails again in a
  few seconds, minutes at most.

  Kernel 3.8.0-29 works properly.
