That patch originated from someone in the community and thus was not
something my team directly submitted. It's not a critical patch at the
moment but something we'd like to have. I'll reach out to the maintainer
to see why he didn't pick it up.

Patch 1 sends a link reset for port1 following a login timeout error. This same fix was delivered previously for port0.
Patch 2 provides feedback to applications so that they may know when
it is acceptable to perform an I/O retry for a virtual LUN.

These patches are not yet upstreamed but will be as part of the 4.4 'rc' phase.
