Title:
bcmwl-kernel-source 6.20.155.1+bdcom-0ubuntu0.0.1: bcmwl kernel module
failed to build
Status in “bcmwl” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
I am installing ubuntu for the first time. I'm not smart enough to
know why these errors happend.
1. I installed ubuntu 12.04 32 bit from disk i created using the ubuntu site. plugged into my lan, and installed.
2. when complete i saw updates alvailable at the switch in the right upper corner (where the shutdown menu is). selected them and got failures
my hardware is a 2005 stock COMPAQ Presario V2000 EC158UA#ABA
bios is the latest from 2006
the wireless swich on the top panel doesn't work and i can't make a wireless connection.
I'm not sure what all the errors are about.
I wiped my disk of windows xp before the install and ubuntu is using
the whole disk (40 GB)
The purpose of me installing ubuntu was to keep my hardware. With support for XP going away next April
I still wanted to keep the laptop running. The hardware works fine.
Thanks - Sam
