Title:
writing to /sys/devices/.../rc/rc0/protocols blocks
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
The lirc service depends on this to work, however the device blocks and subsequent reads are blocking afterwards as well.
This causes the computer to not normally reboot/shutdown when it should.
On 13.04
Linux htpc 3.8.0-26-generic #38-Ubuntu SMP Mon Jun 17 21:43:33 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Using _imon_ infrared driver
Reproduce:
$ cd /sys/ ; cat `sudo find . -name *protocols*|grep rc0`
Output [other] rc-6
$ echo foo | sudo tee `sudo find . -name *protocols*|grep rc0`
output:
HANGS
Expected error, or at the least a non-hanging/blocking result.
