[Bug 1416892] Re: Bad WiFi connection and no working Bluetooth with BCM43142

This problem also happens to my Acer Aspire E5-551G with AMD FX-7500 Radeon R7 and Broadcom Corporation BCM43142 under 14,04, 14.10, 15.04 and 15.10.
Bluetooth doesn't work, following error using the terminal command dmesg: "Direct firmware load for brcm/BCM.hcd failed with error -2". I hope to get a solution soon. It is a bit irritating to own a new laptop, but not able to use WiFi and Bluetooth.

Title:
Bad WiFi connection and no working Bluetooth with BCM43142

Status in bcmwl package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Two different problems with the same device:

  1. Bluetooth doesn't work at all. The device is detected properly and
the driver is apparently installed, but no connection can be
  established.

  2. WiFi connection is half so strong as with other devices or the same
computer with Windows. It also gets lost if farther away than 3 meters
without walls inbetween from the router.
