[Bug 1225460] Re: Radeon HD5800 desktop suspend/resume failure

Dylan Justice, as per
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8Z77V/#support_Download_8 an update is
available for your BIOS (2003). If you update to this, does it change
anything?

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
  Radeon HD5800 desktop suspend/resume failure

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Consistent resume failure and hard crash on Asus P8Z77-V with HD5850.
In about 8 attempts, once observed display corruption on resume rather
than black screen, and one successful resume. Previously experienced
similar problems in Lucid with fglrx and radeon. Have not yet tried
  fglrx in Saucy.

Blaming radeon driver due to identical experience on Lucid with same
video card on different motherboard (Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H).
