David Abergel, the next step is to fully reverse commit bisect from
kernel 4.2 to 4.3 in order to identify the last bad commit, followed
immediately by the first good one. Once this commit has been identified,
then it may be reviewed as a candidate for backporting into your
release. Could you please do this following

Please note, finding adjacent kernel versions is not fully commit
bisecting.

  Kernel 4.2 does not detect external monitor

Bug description:
  On xubuntu 15.10.

  Kernel version 4.2.0-18-generic x86_64 does not detect an external
  monitor when it is connected via the minidisplay port. Using xrandr, I
  can force output to the monitor, but the maximum resolution is
  1024x768 (I think). Hardware is a Dell XPS 13.

  Upgrading to the mainline kernel in the 4.3 version stream eliminates
  the problem.
