[Bug 1085889] Re: [Dell Precision M4600] Cannot mount USB3 external drive while plugged before boot

Thanks for the notification of the new BIOS.
As I said, I had the same problem on another computer that was not a Dell M4600 (not even a dell), so I don't think the BIOS update would help.
Moreover, I cannot test it on my dell M4600 because the problem has been solved with blacklist uas (and then mount and unblacklist). I would need to do a new installation to test for it.

So, I cannot say anything on the M4600, but for my other computer, I did a new installation with raring, and it worked at first try.
I don't know if the problem is solved natively on M4600 with raring, but it is with my HP...

Lets say it is solved if this affects nobody else on quantal or
raring...

Title:
[Dell Precision M4600] Cannot mount USB3 external drive while plugged
  before boot

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
This bugs is exactly the same than explained here:
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/901215
But I am now under Quantal 64bits with this kernel :
  Ubuntu 3.5.0-19.30-generic 3.5.7

  To summarise :
If I plug my external drive on the USB3.0 after boot, it is recognized. But it is not the case when plugged before boot.
I tried to blacklist uas. And then it works.
But is "uas" not usefull for anything else ?

So it could be good if the fix could also be released for quantal
