shutdown freeze

Bug description:
when i turn off my PC it does not shutdown instead it freezes I am using HP Pavilion g series, the OS is Ubuntu 14.04, I changed "quiet splash" in grub to profile to see what is happening, and I found that when my laptop freezes the last three lines are ,
1)Deactivating swap...
2)Will now halt
3) [ 90.446855] reboot: power down
the numbers in the last line every time I shut it down, so I don't
think it makes any difference to you.
