[Bug 1538673] Re: Atheros Qualcomm Killer N1525 Wireless-AC Cannot Connect to ac/5GHz

** Description changed:

- Ubuntu Gnome 15.10
+ What is expected is when I connect my laptop to my Samsung Galaxy Note
+ Edge (Android 5.0.1, Build LRX22C.N915VVRU2BOJ7) 802.11ac/5GHz access
+ point, it connects.

- I do not know what package this error is a part of or if it is even part
- of a package as I am not familiar enough with linux. I know it is the
- ath10k_pci module.
+ What happens instead is that their is a kernel call trace as per:

- Expected: The wifi would connect to the access point.
+ then NetworkManager times out the connection.

- Actual: Firmware crashes twice then NetworkManager times out the
- connection.
-
- This problem only occurs when either connecting to an 802.11ac or a 5GHz
- access point. I do not have the equipment and or knowledge to be able
- to narrow it down any to one specifically. It does connect to my
- phone's hotspot on 2.4GHz (I think it is N?) but will not when the
- hotspot is set to 5GHz (Definitely AC). It also will not connect to my
- school's AC wireless network.
+ WORKAROUND: Use the phone's hotspot on 2.4GHz.
