Sam Brookfield, which model version do you have? the new ones use intel core-i 6th gen CPU and the bug is for the old ones with 5th gen.
Sound still doesn't work for me (without the grub fix), with official ubuntu 15.10 kernel, latest hp bios and also it's the same with latest 4.4 kernel.

  On ubuntu trusty, Audio driver on HP Spectre x360 doesn't work.

  May be related to the bug found on the 2015 XPS 13.

  On the kernel 4.0-rc4+ given as solution for the bug found on the XPS 13, the
