[Bug 1540406] Re: warning: file-aligned section .text extends beyond end of file
Problem still occurs, possibly. I got the same message this evening
during an 'apt dist-upgrade' run:
Setting up linux-signed-image-4.4.0-8-generic (4.4.0-8.23) ...
warning: file-aligned section .text extends beyond end of file
warning: checksum areas are greater than image size. Invalid section table?

When running a dist-upgrade, I received the following warning:
Setting up linux-signed-image-4.4.0-2-generic (4.4.0-2.16) ...
warning: file-aligned section .text extends beyond end of file
warning: checksum areas are greater than image size. Invalid section table?
Note: I've tried booting the kernel with dmesg enabled, it seems to
boot just fine. See
