This bug may actually be a duplicate of bug 1554003 .  Can you test
4.4.0-3 and 4.4.0-4?

If -3 is good and -4 is bad then this probably is a duplicate.  I'm
already in the process of bisecting the other bug.

  qla2xxx panics when module is loaded

Bug description:
  when upgrading from 4.3.0-5 to 4.4.0-15, the system no longer boots,
  due to kernel panics on the qla2xxx module.

  blacklisting this module, updating initrd, corrected this issue as a
  work around.
