The new variant of patch http://marc.info/?l=linux-scsi&m=146005515401214
Was accepted for integration by Martin Petersen http://marc.info/?l=linux-scsi&m=146042727922872

Title:
  Marvell 88SE9485 SAS/SATA 6Gb/s controller patch

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Hi,

The following patch solves the problem of the 88SE9485 controller not
  being recognized by the kernel:

  http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-scsi/msg51816.html

Tested and working on Ubuntu 13.10.

It was suggested to me on #linux on Freenode that I contact the kernel
maintainers for the distribution that I use. I hope this is the right
  place for that.

  Best,

  Maarten Veenstra
