[Bug 1568635] Re: wireless card (Killer n1525) doesn't work
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.6 kernel[0].
If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.
If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".
Thanks in advance.

Title:
wireless card (Killer n1525) doesn't work
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Killer 1525 wireless card doesn't work on Ubuntu Mate with stock drivers. It sometimes can detect networks, but cannot connect to WPA protected WIFI.
"dmesg | grep ath" shows several thousand of lines "failed to start hw scan: -108". Problem can be fixed by following the steps outlined here:
http://www.killernetworking.com/support/knowledge-base/17-linux/20-killer-wireless-ac-in-linux-ubuntu-debian
Please include correct board.bin and firmware-?.bin files to Ubuntu
Mate 16.04 distro.
In my case wifi worked after I deleted board.bin and firmware-4.bin
both /lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA6174/hw2.1/ and
/lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA6174/hw3.0/ then copied
firmware-5.bin_SW_RM.1.1.1-00157-QCARMSWPZ-1 as firmware-4.bin and
firmware-4.bin. Finally, I saved resulting board.bin, firmware-4.bin
and firmware-5.bin to both ..../2.1/ and ..../3.0/ folders
