Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.6 kernel[0].
If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.
If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as

Thanks in advance.

Title:
BIOS function to disable touchpad not working
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Hi,
I have an ASUS notebook with - like virtually all notebooks - a
touchpad in front, which generates bogus mouse input when using the
keyboard due to hand movements. Therefore the notebook has - like most
notebooks - a special function (press Fn + blue symbols on keys) to
disable the touchpad when using an external mouse.
This worked well with 14.04, but doesn't work with 15.10 and 16.04.
Since the mousepad is rather sensible, it makes using the notebook
under Ubuntu rather difficult. Cursor quite often jumpst to arbitrary
location while typing text.
regards
