[Bug 1148084] Re: request to pull in an upstream bug fix for fanotify
I have sent an email about this to Ben and Greg. Seeing that
Precise/Quantal haven't picked up the patch yet, I'm hoping this way I
might accelerate the process. Thanks.

Bug description:
There is an unfortunate bug in the fanotify implementation in pre 3.8
kernels, where due to a race a multithreaded application could end up
being hanged in an uninterruptible state.
The fix has been around since March last year, but pushed to mainline
in November. The patch in question is:
https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-
stable.git/commit/fs/notify/fanotify?id=03a1cec1f17ac1a6041996b3e40f96b5a2f90e1b
