[Bug 1574178] Re: 4.4.0-21 "gave up waiting for root device"
Note: apport-collect 1574178 was run from kernel 4.2, since I never
managed to boot with 4.4 :-)

Bug description:
On a Lenovo A740, after upgrading to Xenial I have to downgrade to
kernel 4.2.0-35 in order to be able to boot at all.
My current /etc/default/grub:

See attached image for what the screen looks like when trying to boot 4.4. My USB keyboard also stops working there so I can't actually type anything into the busybox.
