This is reported against an old version of Ubuntu and many things has
changed since then. Because of that we won't fix this issue however if
this behavior repeats on a modern version please fill a bug report
against it and we will take it from there.

** Changed in: bluez (Ubuntu)

Title:
  bluetooth adapter not properly initialized

Status in bluez package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
I clicked the app-indicator for my bluetooth adapter and It only have
me the option to turn it off, and open the preferences.

If I open preferences, it tells me that bluetooth is disabled. the
upper left slider is in the off position but I can't turn it on.

  Also:
  $ hcitool dev
  Devices:
  	hci0 00:00:00:00:00:00

This happens regularly, usually after a reboot and sudo service bluetooth restart does nothing useful.

  dmesg shows:
  [ 295.338487] bluetoothd[1313]: segfault at 3d ip 00007fd3d5ad1211 sp 00007fffaeece150 error 4 in bluetoothd[7fd3d5a62000+a2000]
