[Bug 926519] Re: Bluetooth teethering leaves OS in a strange state after disconnect
This is reported against an old version of Ubuntu and many things has
changed since then. Because of that we won't fix this issue however if
this behavior repeats on a modern version please fill a bug report
against it and we will take it from there.
** Changed in: bluez (Ubuntu)
Status: Confirmed => Invalid

Title:
Bluetooth teethering leaves OS in a strange state after disconnect
Status in bluez package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
I have had this issue ever since I upgraded from Ubuntu 11.04 to
Ubuntu 11.10.
I tether my iPhone 4S with my Lenovo X201 laptop in order to access
the internet. I have ticked the "Use your mobile phone as a network
device (PAN/NAP)" in the Bluetooth settings.
The iPhone appears (as expected) in the list of network connections. I
can connect to the network as expected (at least initially). However,
if I disconnect from the Bluetooth connection, then Ubuntu exhibits
strange behaviour.
The first problem is that after I disconnect from the Bluetooth
connection, I will not be able to connect to ANY network connection
(WLAN or Bluetooth) without restarting my computer. The attempts to
connect will just time out.
Secondly, after I disconnect from the Bluetooth network, the computer
will not suspend properly. Upon closing the lid of the laptop (which
would usually suspend the OS), the OS remains active and the laptop
will not sleep.
I can provide any logs required to assist with the diagnosis of the
problem.
