This is reported against an old version of Ubuntu and many things has
changed since then. Because of that we won't fix this issue however if
this behavior repeats on a modern version please fill a bug report
against it and we will take it from there.

Bug description:
  Have some difficulties to upgrade ubuntu server 11.10 to 12.04 config with xubuntu desktop.
  I have done 1 recovery 3 days ago, with apt-get -f install to retrieve 11.10 version.

  Today : one more time upgdate (automatic) with some packages install problems, but i didn't have enough time to read.
  I had to run on more time package repair with "dkpg tool" in recovery menu. When recovery was done (it takes more than 10 minutes), a could open my config with graphic mode.

  I'm sorry not to tell more about my problems because i have not tested
  all my applications and for this time all seems to be ok.

  I've read on Internet forums than many people had problems with
  upgrade to 12.04.

  Good luck and thans for finding some solutions.
