Message #178895
[Bug 1581681] Re: KVM slowed down with aparently no reason.
Ok so it looks like upgrading to 15.10 the problem has been solved.
The "CPU Bug" (attached) is still getting at boot time, but it looks
harmless. Also SuperMicro has a FAQ that contains exactly this problem
and they say that a BIOS Update solves the problem:
http://www.supermicro.com/support/faqs/faq.cfm?faq=20349
But the main problem that is the slow-down of the KVM and the errors on
dmesg disappeared when upgrading from 15.04 to 15.10 (that upgrades the
kernel from 3.16 to 4.2) - I think this ticket can be closed since the
solution is to upgrade the distro (probably better to 16.04)

Title:
KVM slowed down with aparently no reason.
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
The server was working perfectly for months, suddenly (yesterday) it
started to slow down the VMs and now I noticed that the CPU Use is
very high and a lot of messages on the dmesg.
I checked if it had any kernel update, but the latest update were from
last year.
I will try upgrading the server to 16.04 in a few days if I can't
solve the problem.
