Apologies for my tardiness in responding to the latest request. The
apport data collection has been attached. The latest kernel update does
not seem to cure this problem.

  Upon suspending this laptop, running Ubuntu 12.10 w/ latest updates, WLAN hardware becomes disabled ("disabled by hardware switch"). Keyboard function key to enable WLAN has no effect.
