692a59e696afe1a4e777d0e4359325336ab0ad89 / 4.1 rc6 seems to have the
bug. When streaming a video online (like i test with all of them this
one froze within 5 min.
@Joseph Salisbury, ready for the next commit to test.
@mrvanes, yes i've read that bug report before. And yes there is a lot
of duplicate effort being done. But until a fix for this issue is found
i see no other option.
And yes, i also suspect there may be more than one bug with similar
freezing problems. In regards to the freezing issue on kernel 3.6 and/or
3.19 i believe i did have my system freeze once or twice while doing
random things (not related to watching online videos). However those
cases were rare and/or not easily reproducible so i didn't have a way to
really report that bug if it is indeed a separate bug. Who knows, that
issue may have been fixed while a similar one was introduced somewhere
else. Best to work on the bigger one first and then to work on other

[Dell Inspiron 3451] WARNING: CPU: 1 PID: 1297 at /build/linux-lts-
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
After upgrading from stock Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04 my laptop
consistently freezes up and is unresponsive to keyboard or mouse. The
only way is to do a hard shutdown. I'm usually in a browser when this
happens, and often watching a video or two. It seems to happen more
often in Google Chrome than Firefox, but it happens with both. It has
happened at least once with no videos loaded. I haven’t observed it
freeze / hang when I’m not in a browser, but that's mainly what i use
my laptop for, so that's where most of my time is spent.
