[Bug 1589383] Re: Kernel With no I2C Controller Battery Support
This issue was here since a clean install. I've tested with latest
4.7.0rc2 kernel and the issue exists. Battery info is not available. The
first comment contains the solution from ArchWiki, which needs to build
my own kernel. I haven't test it myself on the tablet, though. The bios
config has nothing associated with battery, acpi or i2c, so I didn't try
to modify it.
** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu)
Status: Incomplete => Confirmed

For Bay-Trail tablets, the battery controller is using I2C bus , which needs the kernel to be compiled with symble ACPI_I2C_OPREGION [=y] (ref: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/44582). Otherwise the battery status & information is unavailable. Ubuntu 16.04lts x86_64, Kernel version:4.4.0-22-generic
