[Bug 1592016] Re: Trying to suspend gives a black screen and unresponsive system on Ubuntu 16.04
Suspend works properly with the upstream kernel. From uname -a:
4.7.0-040700rc3-generic #201606121131 SMP Sun Jun 12 15:34:32 UTC 2016
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I will now mark this as confirmed.

Ubuntu 16.04
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1589139
When I try to suspend the machine (either by hitting the 'sleep' key,
closing the lid or letting the battery drop to critical) the screen
goes black and then the machine becomes unresponsive, requiring it to
be force powered off.
