[Bug 1586650] Re: Ubuntu 16.04 touchy WiFi Internet
Hi Christopher,
I'm getting stable Internet connection with kernel version
4.7.0-040700rc3-generic on Ubuntu 14.04.4. I've been testing it since
early Monday, and it hasn't dropped connection once.
I'm able to do normal things like stream music on Spotify and watch
YouTube videos. I'm getting 6 to 9 Mbps download speed and 1.9 Mbps
upload speed, which is good for my ISP.
This was the first and only upstream kernel version I have tested. I've
added the requested tags to the initial post, and marked it as
Confirmed. Do you need me to test anything else related to this, or do
any stress-testing of any sort?
So what does this mean? Will this kernel version be arriving standard
with a future release of Ubuntu 16.04? In the meantime, should I just
continue using this kernel with Ubuntu 14.04, or is it best if I go back
to version 3.13?
Thanks for all of your patience and assistance on this.

Title:
Ubuntu 16.04 touchy WiFi Internet
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
When I installed Ubuntu 16.04 I had to reconfigure our modem and
router setup from bridge mode to DHCP mode. As a result, I lost all
ability on my computer to connect to WiFi.
However, the other eight connected devices (ex. iPad, PlayStation)
have Internet connection.
After power-cycling our router and modem I'm now able to connect but I
get 2 Mbps download speed, and web pages load up slowly.
