Message #185221
[Bug 1595233] [NEW] unable to enable jumbo frames on supported card
Public bug reported:
tech info in the attachment
the broadcom 5761 supports jumbo frames as stated in the official user guide (page 5):
https://www.broadcom.com/docs/support/ethernet_nic/Broadcom_NetLink-NetXtreme_DTM_15.4.pdf
if I ty to set the MTU higher than 1500 I receive a "SIOCSIFMTU: Invalid
argument" error.
Also tried with an old 12.04 disti but same effect.
I have the feeling I'm doing something wrong but really can't find so I
came to the conclusion that must be a bug showing up for whatever
reason.
Hardware is a Dell Precision M4800 with latest BIOS version (A13)
let me know if you need further information from what is already
contained in the apport file.
I've found some statements about the card not supporting jumbo frames
but nothing official.
thanks,
Alessandro
** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
