Title:
Toshiba Portege Z835-P330 Keyboard backlight cannot be toggled via
Fn+Z
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
I am running Kubuntu 12.10 on a toshiba Z835-P330 laptop. From within
windows, the keyboard command "FN+Z" turns on and off the keyboard
backlight (retrolight). From within linux, the command does nothing.
Nothing shows up in /var/log/syslog on press of FN+Z, but other FN
combinations do show up. Mainline kernel 3.8-RC1 does not fix this
bug.
WORKAROUND: Setting the backlight in the bios to "always on" turns on
the backlight always, which works, but is not ideal as I have to
restart to turn on or off the backlight.
