[Bug 1597201] Re: 16.04 LTS NFS4 Client hangs when copying large files
This issue appears to be an upstream bug, since you tested the latest
upstream kernel. Would it be possible for you to open an upstream bug
report[0]? That will allow the upstream Developers to examine the issue,
and may provide a quicker resolution to the bug.
Please follow the instructions on the wiki page[0]. The first step is to
email the appropriate mailing list. If no response is received, then a
bug may be opened on bugzilla.kernel.org.
Once this bug is reported upstream, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-
reported-upstream'.

Title:
16.04 LTS NFS4 Client hangs when copying large files
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:

Status in linux source package in Xenial:

Bug description:
When doing simple copy-jobs with large files (f.ex. Partition Images > 4 GByte filesize)the file transfer allways stall after about 16 GByte has passed to the Client.
No Problems using kernel-versions up to kernel 4.2 (Ubuntu 14.04 up to 15.10).
Verified with new installations of 16.04 LTS as well as upgraded (previous working) 15.10 workstations to 16.04 LTS.
Autonegotiated NFS-values are still the same:
Working 15.10 version:
server:/informatik/ab on /informatik/ab type nfs4 (rw,relatime,vers=4.0,rsize=1048576,wsize=1048576,namlen=255,hard,proto=tcp,port=0,timeo=600,retrans=2,sec=krb5,clientaddr=134.100.9.19,local_lock=none,addr=XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX)
Failing 16.04 LTS Version:
server:/informatik/ab on /informatik/ab type nfs4 (rw,relatime,vers=4.0,rsize=1048576,wsize=1048576,namlen=255,hard,proto=tcp,port=0,timeo=600,retrans=2,sec=krb5,clientaddr=134.100.9.19,local_lock=none,addr=XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX)
