[Bug 1577183] Re: dmidecode error on MacBook Pro: map beyond end of file
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1578022 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1578022
This seems to be mostly fixed now. (probably by #1578022).
Now if I do "sudo dmidecode -s system-product-name" I get:
MacBookPro11,2
Invalid entry length (0). DMI table is broken! Stop.
(dmidecode package version 3.0-2ubuntu0.1)

Title:
dmidecode error on MacBook Pro: map beyond end of file
Status in dmidecode package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
When I run from the terminal "sudo dmidecode -s system-product-name"
on a Macbook Pro (as per the instructions from here -
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBookPro12-1/Wily#Remaining_issues_and_optimization_potential),
I get:
mmap: Can't map beyond end of file /sys/firmware/dmi/tables/DMI
Table is unreachable, sorry.
This is with a fully up to date Ubuntu 16.04 on a 2013 15" Macbook
Pro. I attached the DMI file to the issue.
