[Bug 1163720] Re: Brightness control broken on XPS13 with 3.8.0-16 and 3.8.0-22
@dinky : officially, dell only support 12.04 LTS at the moment. Stick
with it if you want a better experience and don't want to live
dangerously ;-)
Windows also have a bunch of bugs, you need to acknowledge that, but you
don't know about them because it is not open. With ubuntu (more
generally, linux), I have these little hardware minor issues, but I
frequently have a uptime of more than 15 days. I never achieve that with
windows.
Using Linux need an adaptation. You leave a rather policed world to step
into the world of Freedom. You won't regret it, I tell you, but this
needs a bit of adaptation I guess.
Note that there is a workaround to this. Did you find it ? With Linux,
there's always a workaround ;-)
@Bib, for your other issues, I don't have them on my L322x. Did you
find/open relevant bugs ?

Status in “linux” source package in Raring:

Bug description:
Since 3.8.0-16, the brightness control doesn’t work anymore.
The popup is displayed, so the shortcut keys do work correctly, but it has no effect on the actual brightness of the screen.
Switching back to 3.8.0-15 solves the issue.
