[Bug 1233774] Re: Seagate disk not works correctly
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.12 kernel[0].
If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.
If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.
If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Bug description:
Seagate Expansion Portable Hard Drive 500GB http://www.seagate.com
/external-hard-drives/portable-hard-drives/standard/expansion-
portable/ not works correctly on my laptop Asus X55U. Disk model
inside ST500LT012-9WS142 (checked via "Disks" tool). Disk is
connetcted via USB 3.0 to my laptop ASUS X55U. Benchmark shows 36.8
MB/s (read) 34.6 (write) 23.95 (access). Newest kernel
3.8.0-30-generic of Ubuntu 13.04 (64-bit mode).
However same benchmark (via "Disks" tool) but from ISO CD (without
updates) shows results 86.7 (read) 78.7 (write) 23.61 (access).
