[Bug 1233903] Re: aufs doesn't work, even with aufs-tools installed
You're probably missing the linux-image-extra-3.2.0-40-virtual package.

Title:
aufs doesn't work, even with aufs-tools installed
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I am using ubuntu 12.04, kernel 3.2.0-40, on an EC2 instance, created
through vagrant with this box: https://github.com/mitchellh/vagrant-
aws/raw/master/dummy.box; and this ami: ami-a3da00be
I am trying to use aufs, and have already installed aufs-tools,
however, when I try to mount two directories, it says "unknown
filesystem type 'aufs'".
It works on another box with the same ubuntu version, but kernel
3.2.0-53, on virtualbox, created through vagrant with this box: http
://cloud-images.ubuntu.com/vagrant/precise/current/precise-server-
cloudimg-amd64-vagrant-disk1.box
EDIT: I just tested in another EC2 instance, with 13.04, aufs doesn't
work there either.
