  No display on 12.04 (Nomodeset fixes it) - No problem with mainline
  kernel 3.6

Bug description:
  After a dualboot install, grub takes the ubuntu to a tan screen and freezes
  If I power down and start over, this time select linux recovery,  and then Resume I correctly arrive at the login screen.

  Running boot-repair has resulted in what appears to be the login
  screen but it is split into two.  The mouse can travel right and
  arrive in the left window.  Paste /1201849  was near the start of my
  contacts with Yann.  /1211250 was after the nomodeset option.
