[Bug 1220165] Re: Error informing the kernel about modificatons

I fell on my face performing this:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingUbiquity#Deeper_debugging_of_partman

I think I didn't quite know how to restart rsyslog :^(

I'm tired now but maybe I'll try just using "ubiquity -d" tomorrow.

Look, I'm no dev by any means, but I believe this bug is tagged wrong!
It's much more likely a ubiquity bug than a kernel bug, and it is
"critical"! Colin Watson would know how to properly assign this :^)

Title:
Error informing the kernel about modificatons

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in “linux-ppc” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
When installing the desktop powerpc image, the installer comes up with
  an error message:

"Error informing the kernel about modifications to partitino /dev/sda3
  - Device or resource busy. This means Linuxc won't know about any
changes you made to /dev/sda3 until you reboot - so you shouldn't
mount it or use it in any way before rebooting."

I made no changes. The installer comes up with this error all on its
own right before the "Where are you?" screen.
