Title:
Cannot mount NFS shares
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Upon upgrading from 11.04 to 11.10 (server, 32bit) I can no longer
mount any nfs partition. During boot I see:
[ 18.658826] RPC: Registered tcp NFSv4.1 backchannel transport module.
[ 18.765786] FS-Cache: Loaded
[ 18.774889] lockd: no symbol version for xdr_encode_netobj
[ 18.774896] lockd: Unknown symbol xdr_encode_netobj (err -22)
...
mount -a gives:
mount.nfs: No such device
mount.nfs: No such device
If I try to load nfs by hand:
FATAL: Error inserting nfs (/lib/modules/3.0.0-14-generic-
pae/kernel/fs/nfs/nfs.ko): Invalid argument
The problem is similar to other reports concerning rpcbind and the var
being on a separate partition. Running if /var on the root partition
does not help. Also, I'm running the rcpbind version that those other
bug reports suggest.
