Bug description:
Bug has been ongoing since 3.10-rc6
Certain UEFI laptops incorrectly report their BPP on their display,
causing kernel modesetting to fail

Developers have refused to quirk the regression, causing no display on
a a large number of systems.
Upgraded installations will boot with no display, and the installer
will have no display.
