Telofy, if you have a bug in Ubuntu, the Ubuntu Kernel team, Ubuntu Bug Control team, and Ubuntu Bug Squad would like you to please file a new report by executing the following in a terminal while booted into a Ubuntu repository kernel (not a mainline one) via:
ubuntu-bug linux

For more on this, please read the official Ubuntu documentation:

welcome to redirect them to the appropriate mailing list or forum via

Title:
computer randomly restarts when ac power adapter is used.

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
this is a problem with all ubuntu variants and others based on ubuntu
  (namely linux mint).

it exists in 13.04 and 12.10 and if the laptop is pluged into ac
power, the laptop will randomly restart. it could be in 30 seconds,
or 30 minutes. I have left the laptop to sit, at desktop, come back
and opened a terminal and bam! computer restarts. no warning.

by accident I had it unplugged one day and it did not restart once. I
finally figured out the source of the problem (ac power cord).

this problem does not exist with other Linux distributions. Ubuntu
and Linux Mint are the only ones with the problem.

If I install Ubuntu or Mint and run on battery power, excellent. no
  crashes of any kind.

the problem only exists when ac power charger cable is plugged in.
