welcome to redirect them to the appropriate mailing list or forum via

Title:
Toshiba Satellite R630 Can't control brightness of display after
suspend
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I have Toshiba Satellite R630, modification of Portege R700 with embedded intel i915 video card. After resuming from suspend mode display brightness stays same as it was before suspend, but it is impossible to changed brightness by function keys or by command line. I tried to use kernel parameter acpi_backlight=vendor, also tried to use alternative kernels from Kamal Mostafa, which he created for related problem (Bug #568611), s2ram with different options. Nothing worked. One interesting effect was when using "vbetool post" - screen gone black, only deformated cursor in graphic mode, but I could change brightness by function keys. vbetool with any other options (vbestate save/restore and so on) didn't work for me.
I use Ubuntu 10.10, previous version 10.04 had same bug.
