[Bug 1244634] Re: Trackpad not working in fujitsu lifebook UH572
This whole thing got a lot worse and problematic, because I was running
setup where upgrades did not update grub at all (so I was still running
kernel 3.5.x , which works fine. After I noticed that I had upgraded my
system to 13.10, but running kernel was still 3.5, I did a pure install
and after that trackpad does not wake after sleep at all.
After that I've been hitting my head against wall quite some time, but this is what I've found so far:
With kernel 3.5.0-17 my trackpad works just fine (with those kernel parameters pointed in first post).
Latter kernels work after boot, but after suspend trackpad stops
working. With some kernels, might have been 3.5.0-42 IIRC , mouse starts
working after i push FN+F4 twice. (F4 is a hw shortcut to disable
trackpad).
And latest kernels do not work even with that fn+F4 trick.

Title:
Trackpad not working in fujitsu lifebook UH572
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Hi,
this bug has been since 12.04. The problem is, trackpad is not working
at all with clean install (at least in 12.04, 13.04, 13.10).
This solves the problem (solution found from here:
https://lifebook.ts.fujitsu.com/blog/blog/category/general/ubuntu-12-10
-quantal-quetzal-on-fujitsu-lifebook-uh572/s )
1. open a terminal (Ctrl-Alt-T)
2. run
$ sudo gedit /etc/default/grub (or your favourite editor - I prefer "vim")
3. find the line containing: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX
4. add "i8042.notimeout i8042.nomux" to the string in quotes
5. save and exit
6. run
$ sudo update-grub
7. reboot
