[Bug 1220719] Re: NetworkManager not setting proper state after suspend
In my case, the User Interface (Unity) seems to work fine. However, the system is at a peculiar state. It can't shutdown, restart or suspend (not even from the Terminal) and the Network Manager is not showing any connections. Also, most applications can't be started after a suspend. However, the system restarts when instructed to do so as root (`sudo restart`).
The problem doesn't occur always, but about half the times (thus it is really annoying)!
I hope my comment will help locate and/or fix the Bug... :D
PS. My graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce 520M (512MB DDR2 RAM) and my
processor is an Intel Atom N2700 @2.13GHz. Of course, I use Ubuntu 13.10
(upgraded from Ubuntu 13.04)...

Title:
NetworkManager not setting proper state after suspend
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
This issue is being experienced on a Lenovo T430 laptop running 13.10
with the latest updates. It has been happening since roughly the time
I upgraded to 13.10, but was not happening with 13.03 and the 3.11
kernel.
After resuming from suspend, many times NetworkManager will not list
any connections, will not connect to wired networks, and will only
show "Network Enabled" unchecked in the drop-down menu.
NetworkManager Status:
tcameron@HOSTNAME:~$ nmcli nm status
RUNNING STATE WIFI-HARDWARE WIFI WWAN-HARDWARE WWAN
running asleep enabled enabled enabled disabled
Using nmcli to set the sleep state to false re-enables networking
manually.
tcameron@HOSTNAME:~$ nmcli nm sleep false
RUNNING STATE WIFI-HARDWARE WIFI WWAN-HARDWARE WWAN
running connected enabled enabled enabled enabled
tcameron@HOSTNAME:~$ nmcli nm status
