[Bug 1239358] Re: [Lenovo x220] display port stopped working after move to 13.04

Elmar Pruesse, as per http://download.lenovo.com/express/ddfm.html an
update is available for your BIOS (1.38). If you update to this
following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change
anything?

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
[Lenovo x220] display port stopped working after move to 13.04

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I get a blank (turned off) display on an Eizo monitor connected via
  DisplayPort to a Lenovo x220.

The display works on 12.10 and does work while booting. As soon as X
starts, the display is gone. Xrandr does show it and it can be
configured. The screenshot tool shows entire area correctly. But
nothing appears on the screen. Reconnecting the cable does the usual
flicker, as does power cycling the monitor. The display stays blank.

On 12.10 something similar occurred intermittently. After closing the
notebook lid, the monitor had to be powercycled (re-plugging the cable
  did not help).
