Matthieu Baerts, so regarding release pre-Raring (not Saucy or Trusty,
but Quantal, Precise, etc.) did you not have this problem?

Title:
Powering down inactive GPU while running X causes NULL pointer
dereference
Status in The Linux Kernel:
Confirmed
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Hello,
I'm using Ubuntu Raring 13.04 with the latest version of the kernel
available in these repos (3.8.0-19.29).
Sometimes I have a kernel OOPS at startup and it seems it's because I switch off my ATI card.
I added this line in my /etc/rc.local file:
echo OFF > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch
I don't have this bug each time but I guess it depends if this
previous command is launched before or after that X11's launch.
I'm using this card: Mobility Radeon HD 4650.
It seems that this bug has already reported to there: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49531 and https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61529
But I guess it can be interesting to track this bug on Launchpad.
