[Bug 1239402] Re: continuously resumes from suspend when battery is critically low

It's not related to the battery, or anyway it's not necessarily when critically low.
The first time I observed it the battery was low so I thought that was what triggered the issue.

However now it's happening again, and the battery is completely charged
(and connected to power).

I suspend, then it immediately spontaneously resumes. Once it starts,
it's systematic, that is I've tried like 6 or 7 times to suspend and it
always resume.

This seems to appear randomly: I had suspended dozens of times without
problems after the last time I had observed the issue.

And no, I can't test the upstream kernels.

** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu)
       Status: Incomplete => Confirmed

** Summary changed:

- continuously resumes from suspend when battery is critically low
+ continuously resumes from suspend at random times

Title:
continuously resumes from suspend at random times

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
When battery gets critically low, the default action is to suspend
(which, by the way, is ridiculously missing as an option in Power
settings, as the action to take when battery gets critically low, see
  #939335).

However, for some reason, the system will immediately resume on its
own initiative just after suspending. Then, it will suspend again in a
matter of seconds, becuse battery is low. And then it will immediately
  resume again and so on.

This does not happen if you manually suspend when there is enough
  battery.
