[Bug 1250051] Re: Backlight switched off at login screen

 

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.12 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Title:
  Backlight switched off at login screen

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Whenever I used to boot on ubuntu, my login screen was too dim, I
  wouldn't know my computer was switched on until I increased the
  brightness with my keyboard.

  I asked for a solution on Ubuntu IRC, and the user hitsujiTMO managed
  to create me a temporary solution that worked fine, and he recommended
  me to file this report.

  The temporary fix was calling

  When I asked him if the problem was the same as this one:

  He told me that, that's for a specific hardware  and told me to run
