[Bug 1250456] Re: System froze with darkscreen afetr recovering from standby mode, needed hard reboot

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.12 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Title:
System froze with darkscreen afetr recovering from standby mode,
  needed hard reboot

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I put the system on standby mode for a while. When I tried to
reactivate by using the keyboard the computer froze on a
darkscreen+white rechtangle on displays' upper-left corner. Needed a
hard reboot, afterwhich I got the error report, saying there was a
"Kernel Oops" type of problem in "Linux-
  image-3.11.0-13-generic3.1:0-13.20."

After that I had another crash of HUD when trying to send an error
report to this site via terminal command. Needed a reboot to send
  these error reports correctly
