[Bug 979464] Re: [Toshiba Satellite L755-S5356] Auto resume from suspend

Michael Zeng, as per
http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=3133826 an update
is available for your BIOS (3.60). If you update to this following
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change anything?

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
[Toshiba Satellite L755-S5356] Auto resume from suspend

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
What happens is, when I go to shut my lid on my laptop, the computer
goes into suspend, as it would normally, for 1 second. Then, the
computer immediately wakes up, however, the screen is still black,
it's only when I shake the mouse that the login screen appears. What's
  going on?

Close the lid, laptop goes into suspend for a second, then
immediately, the lights on the laptop go from saying its suspending to
saying its awake. The laptop should suspend and only resume when I
open the lid again, but it just resumes automatically after 2 seconds.

If I were to guess, the kernel might be causing problems here.
The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L755.
Running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Beta 2, recently upgraded.
