[Bug 981167] Re: Wifi Networking in Precise is intermittent
Christopher Phelps, as per http://download.lenovo.com/express/ddfm.html
an update is available for your BIOS (1.52). If you update to this
following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change
anything?
If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.
For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.
Thank you for your understanding.

** Description changed:
- On my Lenovo T500 and T510 everytime I update my system to the Precise trunk I get intermittent connection to my wifi connection. It always says I am connected but I can't ping out regularly, can't update my system because I can't connect to the servers, can't install new software, and can't do any work online. This is a no go for me on the system, if I reset my wifi connection ... ie turn off the radio and then turn it back on ... it seems to work again for maybe a minute and then it doesn't work again. As such at this time I have to stick with oneiric which is still working for me. That means however that I cannot recommend Precise for anyone and I can't receive the newest software on my machine, something I pride myself in, I am completely disappointed and don't know what to do to try to fix this issue. The connection should be stable, like it is in oneiric and previous versions and it is not, this is not an issue with my laptop - AFAIK - because Linux Mint, Ubuntu Oneiric, and numerous other Linux Distributions work just fine with my network connection the only one having issues right now is the Precise trunk.
